Draped bust of Ariarathes VI to right, wearing bashlyk tied with a diadem; behind, countermark: radiate facing bust of Helios within round incuse. Rev. BAΣI[ΛEΩΣ] - APIAPA[ΘOY] Athena seated left, holding Nike in her right hand and leaning left on shield; spear at side. HGC 7, 825. Simonetta 5. A lovely piece with an interesting and attractive countermark. Some flatness from countermarking on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
